OVERVIEW
In this project I was challenged to design and 3D model an environment ready for production. At first it felt a bit overwhelming because I had so many ideas I didn’t know which one to pick. I was very inspired by darker animation styles such as the one seen in the movie Coraline and by the Victorian period, clothes and architecture, which later I would find out just how detailed it was.
I designed the room and the character in procreate; used maya as the main modeling program; sculpted the more organic assets in Zbrush; learned basic procedural modeling systems in maya and houdini in order to create plants and repetitive patterns like the floor wooden planks; and finally simulated bed sheets and pillows using marvelous designer.
